Just me playing around with "Paint" and Jasc "Animation Shop 3". I re-colored Thanh's pink dress in a variety of purple, green, blue, and red and then copied them into an animation file, using the "fade" effect, so it looks like the dress is changing colors. After that, I also tried to giver her a silver dress, as seen in the preview pic, but it came out looking more gray than silver.

I love this one! Super cute. And I love, love, LOVE the magical color changing dress. I like to imagine it's kinda like a mood ring. XD

lol. Thank you. Kami was the first artist I ever commissioned for Thanh, I'd had a chibi drawn, but this was the first time I'd had anything official. I used a picture of Ranpha from Galaxy Angel as the reference for the pose and explained how I wanted the hair. Funny, Thanh's hair was always supposed to be in a bun in the back of her head, but when I commissioned her first picture, I wanted to show just how long it was, so I went with this hair style, and it seems to have stuck, lol.

Anyway, Kami's version was only an inking, so I still have the origional here at the house, but I got a didgiatl copy and started coloring it with paint shop. I decided to have a little fun and try out different colors for the dress. Unfortunately, I don't have the program I used to make the .gif on this computer, anymore - and I'm not sure where the disc went. So, now outside of Interenet Explorer and Fire Fox, I can't get any moving.gifs to run.

Sorry, I'm rambeling. Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you like this one. *Giggle.* And, yeah, it kind of is like a mood ring, isn't it? I'd never actually thought about it, but you're right.

Isn't it funny how characters develop if you just let them?? This is why I'm really enjoying concept Wednesdays. I'm able to explain my process to everyone and revisit my journey of how the character came to be.

And I have to say I love Thanh's hair. It's one of the first things I noticed about the character. Simply gorgeous. I can't imagine it any other way.

*Giggle.* Yeah, I love how they gradually take on a life of their own. There was a time my husband and I were playing around with her and another female character (maybe her sister, I don't remember), and all of a sudden a catgirl burst through the wall, looking for the Liger Guy Thanh lives with. It was out of character, but the catgirl's looking for him, and Thanh's just like, "Who are you, and why did you break down my wall?" As the catgirl continues talking, she sighs, leans over to her sister and whispers, "She's ignoring me, isn't she?" lol. Thanh is normally the shy quiet one, she doesn't usually get mad, but this catgirl just burst through the wall, so she had to act somewhat out of character. Course, it was set sometime after the main story, so I guess it makes sense.

But, yeah, I took a scene from the main story, I left her hair in the bun at the begining, then after Rei takes her home with him, she gets in the shower, then when she comes out of the shower, I decided to work with what the fans have come to know her with, and she has it pulled into her braid. ^_^
